What is an IPL Treament?
Lumecca is an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment that targets pigmented and vascular lesions. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which delivers a comfortable and effective light treatment.
In just 1-3 sessions, Lumecca improves the appearance of age spots (red/brown pigmentations), vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins), rosacea (redness), freckles, and sun damage.
Target Areas
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. This often includes the face, neck, decolletage, legs, hands and arms.
Treatment Details
The treatment area will be cleansed and a clear gel will be applied. Protective eye wear will be provided to you. As the IPL device passes over your skin, it penetrates the deep layers of your skin. Your IPL session will take about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Will I have Immediate Results?
Pigmented areas will appear darker after your treatment and may resemble a scab. Over the next two weeks, the darkened areas will flake off, revealing healthy, glowing skin.
Will it Hurt?
Some patients describe the IPL as feeling like a warm rubber band snapping on their skin. The skin will feel like a sunburn for a first few hours after your treatment.
What are the Risks?
There is some risk of hyper/hypo-pigmentation is you are exposed to sun before or after your treatment. You should avoid the sun for 2-3 weeks before and after treatment and apply SPF 30+.
How much will it Cost?

How long is recovery?
There is little recovery period needed with an IPL. You may leave our office with your skin a bit red and warm. This should fade in several hours. Over the next one to two days, you may notice a darkening of pigmented spots. In the weeks following, the pigmented lesions will clear, leading to an evening out of the skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch or a color change in the vessel, which will dissipate after a few days..
